Just bought this. (don't tell the wife)

Very impressed so far. The model is basically the same as the FS9 version, rebuilt with the FSX tools to enable bump mapping etc.
Frame rates are superb. Considering the FS9 version was a frame rate hog, this one it totally different. I have my frame rate lock set at 30 and that's where it stays in exterior and VC views. 2D panel drops down to about 25fps

Repaints for the FS9 version will work on this model, I just changed the format to DXT5, DDS and added the entries in the aircraft.cfg manually.

Not tried all the systems yet, need to RTFM first

Ahh. I was wondering if they'd rebuilt the cockpit for the J model but I'll have to wait until the other packs come out and see.

Shame I cannot have FSX as that was a complete FR hog (and it gave me the 'blurries' on this PC)in FS9 so I unloaded it :'( . It was always a great model though!

I just took my first flight but unlike some I'm experiencing low frame-rates (10-14 FPS). Too bad...I was so looking forward to flying this one alot.

Hopefully someone out there will be able to offer some suggestions as to how I can adjust my settings...

System is Dell XPS 720 (Intel Core Quad 2 Q6600, 2 GB Corsair RAM, NVidea 8800GT, Windows XP)

Hi Deryl,

Have you applied the FSX service packs and rebuilt your fsx.cfg file?

Cheers,
Ben.:tunes:
