Oi! FlyNet, yes you!!!!!!!!

Post by johnsmithe15 »

I just did the most un-believably perfect flight from Heathrow to Alicante in the Trident 2......and when I put on the brakes and waited for the BING-BONG it didn't happen!?!?!

Seems like FlyNet froze somewhere in the middle of my flight, is this a common occurence? I will be checking tomorrrow, obviously, to see if my flight has been logged but in the meantime it is somewhat galling. And if the flight has somehow been logged I most certainly hope that I have not been charged for the fuel or the wasted cabin refreshments!!!I also flew the route online with VATSIM so there is the proof that I did the flight, realtime, but Flynet went down (or something)

I hate to sound like an excuse merchant, because that is just NOT me, but I have to say I don't like being put back right where I started from, especially when I have made an effort to make the flight as 'real' as possible.

I even used INS to navigate.......what a waste of time!!!! :@ :@ :@

Johny

PS. Yes, just checked, the flight has gone un-recorded. I guess I am back at Heathrow. Where I started.
PPS. Before anyone else points this out......I am well aware that this is Freeware and I should be well grateful for whatever I get......however......freeware developers need input like this just the same as payware, even more so, because it is pride rather than profit that drives them to create a top-notch product.
PPPS. And no......my internet connection is excellent.

Hi Johnny,

Your flight is still showing booked so no charges etc but you will have to perform the flight within 24 hrs of when you booked it to avoid paying compensation to the passengers if you don't fly them. It is possible that you may have the FlyNET tracker switched on which has given varying problems over the time we have been at FlyNET. Go to C:\WINDOWS and look for the file 'FlyNET' which is a config file. It will open with notepad. Change tracker = 1 to tracker = 0 and hopefully this may solve any further problems. The tracker issue only seemed to give problems on longer flights.

Rgds

Thanks for positive and constructive reply, I was not expecting it so quickly. Will go and have a look and try to do that.
