I seem to remember .air files in FS2004 were used to configure flight dynamics and a free program "aired" was used to change them.
Is this still the case in FSX or are the cfg files used now?
There is virtually no mention of air files in the SDK.

Re: First Newbie developer question - .air files
Hi Paul
Yes mate Aired is still the tool i use.
there are a few others but all seem to put far too much lagasy unneeded rubbish in the air file that actually makes FSX stuff fly badly.
the best thing to do is start with a FSX fde and adjust the needed values rather than have a lot you don't need.
Aired can be found here http://www.simradar.com/File/2363/AirEd ... _1_51.html

Thanks Rick,
That link isn't working (the download fails) but I found it on flightsim.com
The next question is which parameters are legacy? The SDK is a bit light on this information. I seem to remember the FS2004 SDK being much more informative.
