Colin McRea dies in a helicopter accident

Post by Trev Clark »

Reading between the lines, this looks bad news indeed, just what we do not need after Shoreham today............

Reading other reports on this, I am very afraid Colin was the pilot and there are no survivors.

The Times is saying it is him and his 5 year old son, but no official announcement will be made until the morning.

If it were not him, I think a statement will have been released to that end.

A very sad day indeed.

Indeed,so far there have not been any releases announcing Colin wasn't piloting the aircraft.

Colin's website is unavailable at the moment.

I've seen all three of the "Rallying McRaes" in action over the years, and Colin's WRC win in '95 with Subaru was a real highpoint.

Let's keep our fingers crossed that he's safe.

You could see him thinking "Bleedin'pilots, don't know nuffin. All glammer" He's probably right.
