is there any Basler BT-67 (DC-3 Turbo)?
hello,
after the "Polar 4", a plane of Type Dornier 228-101 was crashed at a landingmaneuver, Alfred Wegener of Institute of Polar- and Ozean-Science bought a new Aircraft.
The "Polar 5" is the Basler BT-67, a new Version of the well known DC-3 with Turbofans.

Now my question...are there any intentions for building this type of DC-3 with Turbofans? or are there any models?
i like this mixture of old model and new technics, i´m very interested in this airplane...

Hi philipp
Of course those are turbo-props not turbo-fans.....a typo I guess..
I don't know of one and I don't think there would be much interest in one here for FS
Personally I think it's monsterous and should be converted back to a proper DC 3.
You might get a better answer on one of the other forum
But if there is one someone like Chris Trott wil probably know .....if he is around he may answer this.

Hi Philipp,
The South African's have a turbo version of the DC3 too and I must say it looks very odd.. a most unusual mix of old and new!
I've not seen one available for Flightsim and I can guarantee that none of the resident model makers here have one on the books but I'd be surprised if someone, somewhere didn't build one.

there ain't any mention of a upgrade dc3 turbo at DC3 Airways. they would be the chaps who would know who is building one. thats for the Maam unit. default dc3 would be left as is. i would like to see one built, nice to be able to fly the old girl with more powerful engines.
Re: is there any Basler BT-67 (DC-3 Turbo)?
Some NZ guys released an upgraded default FSX DC3 with new texture maps, wheel chocks and the like... I'm pretty sure they've mentioned modelling this.
Re: is there any Basler BT-67 (DC-3 Turbo)?
well, it´s really a unusuall mix, but i like that. the old form of the DC3 is very beautyful and with the turboprops it has more power and performance. it´s in my opinion a nice plane for bushflying.
a update for the maam will be perfect, but i don´t think, that they will make it...
further i didn´t thought, that there is a basler anywhere, but i wanted to ask here the gurus of freeware-aircrafts...
btw. thanks the gurus for building the nice freeware, especially for the HS748, BAC 1-11...!
thanks guys for answers...

I mentioned this topic to Jan Visser once, apparently it's considered an obscene suggestion over at MAAM.Captain Pugwash wrote:there ain't any mention of a upgrade dc3 turbo at DC3 Airways. they would be the chaps who would know who is building one. thats for the Maam unit.
