Vickers Valiant repaints
Hello all,
I've started work on Vickers Valiant repaints (the old Alphasim freeware model that UKMil did a while ago) and would like to know if anyone has any detailed scale model plans for it, as they would be much appreciated. So far I have been working off reference photos, but given the typically all-white anti-flash finish, it's hard to clearly see panel lines. Also, if anyone has photos of the camo finish scheme they would also be welcome, as I only have a couple of these.
Thanks,
Steve

Re: Research for the Vickers Valiant
Very, very useful, thanks a LOT Techy. WHen I blow those pics up, I should be able to see a heck of a lot more panelling than before. The model plans pics will be the most useful. As for the camo b/w pic- I have a colour one from Airliners.net just like that, but if you can find more, all the better.

Steve..
I have a reasonable amount of data on the Valiant including a Flight Manual for it
Unfortunately, none of the drawings I have show panel lines in detail but I'll scan what I think might be useful ;-) Two diags might be of immediate use.. anti flash and camo exterior paint detail. Give me a couple of days and I'll get something to you

Re: Research for the Vickers Valiant
That would be lovely, Dave, the more the merrier regarding research right now. Actually, if your flight manual has any diags of the cockpit instrumentation, that would be nice too, as I wanted to have a crack at a new panel for her too. I have a good shot of it from Airliners that I was going to use, but a diagram would be clearer.
Oh, I just found these, but as I said, I diagram would still help:

Re: Research for the Vickers Valiant
Ok Steve.. no problem ;-) It's a crying shame that the nose section in the Strat Chamber at Brooklands is now considered out of bounds (you're likely to glow in the dark if you go inside hence it's a no-go area) as I could have got 'proper' shots for you :-( Darned shame as I wanted to go inside anyway (the HSE has a lot to answer for)
I've been meaning to scan the Valiant FM for years but it's at least a 2week job using all the spare time I have so I've kept putting it off. I'll blow the dust off and see what's in there ;-) We'll get you sorted (between us).. have no fear
