Tiny flying things

Post by DispatchDragon »

Some time ago someone posted an ad for a very small RC helicopter......

Tag came back from an outing with his mom yesterday with this............

Image

It has to be the smallest RC helicopter Ive ever seen - and flies very well to boot.....

The coin sitting next to it is a nickel about the same size as a 5p piece

Available at FAO Schwarz :)

funny you should say that ---

It was my first thought too - not that Tag has a habit of sucking on helicopters - and lo and behold on the box
was a statement that guarnteed that it was made in the good old US of A LOL.......We already went through this
with his lordships Thomas collection - thankfully NOT the wooden version otherwise he would have had a fit.
My concern is more that SWMBO'd china is now in jeopardy from the helicopter pilot.

Its tricky I'll give you that - the balance blade thingies - I know they have a real name just cant think of it are what moves
making the rotor head change pitch - it will go up down hover and forward and back - supposedly ( RTFM it will go sideways as well but havnt mastered that - it takes a delicate touch though

Do you have any pets? That could add immeasurably to the helo's 'fun factor'. ;-)

They're called the "Fly Bar". They simply replace the swashplate on normal helicopters because there is not enough force able to be transmitted to the main blades to change their angle. Larger, multi-bladed R/C aircraft have done away with them as high-torque servos have come on the market that can move the blades effectively on 3+ blade helicopters. Most 2-blade rigs still have the flybar however.
