Le Tourquet scenery

Post by Trev Clark »

Following on from the Bristol Freighter thread at the CBFS section, we have a need for some nice places for the aircarft to use.

I have found a nice scenery for Le Tourquet, (albeit in more modern guise, but not that out of place), but on my system it has problems. The runway has part of the mesh of the airfield running across it and the runway also floats about 20 ft up, at times. I see that the airfield itself is not flat, but I fear I might have an old (hidden) mesh on my system which is causing this. The scenery also has a photo texture set which really shows the beach and sand dunes, so important for this airfield.

If anybody fancy seeing if it works OK outside of my system (or fixing it if it is wrong), it is at AVSIM and the file is lfatphoto and is about 10 meg. Some aspects of are really good! :brick:

LFATphoto works well on my system. I use Global 2005 & Roads and Rivers of Europe.

On the Le Touquet scenery I use I installed Touquet AD in a separate file to Touquet Photo in my FS9 Addon scenery file. When adding both of these to the FS9 library I have them placed with Touquet AD at Priority 91 and Touquet Photo at Priority 92.

I did have some problems when I first installed the scenery until I discovered that at the end of the 'readme' file all the installation instructions were repeated in excellent English!!

This really is excellent scenery and well worth persevering with the installation procedure.

LFATPhoto didn't work for me either Trev.. I think I had what you are seeing! The version I downloaded didn't have a handy 'English' translation either! :-(

In case you want something better than the default and can't get the 'Photo' ver to work.. try here http://perso.orange.fr/christian.dupriez/

This is what I use on a regular basis and is probably more in line with our Classic bent than the photo offering ;-) There are two other files you need to get all the textures to display (both available on that site) but if my powers of deduction can suss out which two they are, you should have no problem ;-)
