JP5
Hello Chaps and Chapesses
Does anyone know where one of our crew members wives can get her
hands on a good quality Jet Provost 5 desk model (before her hubby buys the real thing???)
Thanks
Leif
Oh yes UKmil folks - Anyone care to do a quick one off paint of Ricks Mk5
in the Twocan type colour scheme - yes I know its fictional but we'd like to see what a JP would look like in those colours

You can try here http://www.collectorsaircraft.com/
Seems they have one in the works for next year. See centre column immediately before the 7th "click for more" link....not quite half way down the page.

This Toucan type paint job - his wife saw the photo this morning and wondered out loud what it would look like in this colour scheme

Ah. I've never heard then referred to as "Toucans" before. I actually started painting the JP5 in a standard Tucano 72 Squadron black a few months back but lost interest in the project, I might dust it off if I get chance later this week.DispatchDragon wrote:This Toucan type paint job - his wife saw the photo this morning and wondered out loud what it would look like in this colour scheme

There is Reed Dalton's plane, XW332 which is based at Front Range which is a very good airplane (got to see it fly several times, very fun looking airplane). The only other one is Craig Wingert's plane (XN471) but it's been sitting at Centennial since it geared-up in 1998 or 1999. Don't have any pictures of it, though I see it's for sale on several sites.
Astre Air International also has several Provosts and Gnats among types (including a Pembroke) and are based in Watkins, CO.
Mr. Dalton bought his Provost to build time in preparation for receipt of an ATG Javelin, but that plan may have changed by now. I'm not sure why Mr. Wingert bought his, but since it's been sitting for so long, I don't know that he wanted to use it for anything other than a toy and when it had its accident, he decided it wasn't worth the money to fix it.
