James B. "Earthquake McGoon" McGovern Jr
Was a WW II fighter pilot Ace
He was shot down in Laos flying a C119 boxcar while attempting to parachute a howitzer to the French in 1954.

He was One of the first two Americans killed in the Vietnam War
His remains were discovered in a Laos village in 2002
and will be Buried /reburied/ in the Arlington National Cemetery

I remember reading about him in Martin Windrow's book 'The Last Valley'. That battle has a hold over me, for some reason.
