Hand Luggage

i need a quick reply to this one.

These days what are the things you CAN take abord as hand luggage.

dsepends on where your going and where from. Liquids are only allowed in clear bottles in a clear bag etc, unless ita a baa airport in the uk (don't know about the others) as they will allow you to take on drinks bought airside (i.e. after security)

computers, mp3 players phones etc are ok, but opviously switched off when on board (although some airlines alow you to use mp3 / phones in flight only mode etc

Ian, depends on the airport operator. Most major UK airports (LHR, LGW, STN, Southampton, Glasgow, Edinburgh) are run by BAA so will have more or less the same rules. Manchester, NEMA, Bournemouth and Humberside are operated by MAG whilst Birmingham is operated by a joint venture between local authorities and a private company and Coventry is I believe operated by or on behalf of TUI/Thomson Holidays. Its best just to look up the website of the airport(s) you are flying from and the airline you are flying with to find out what they allow.

When I flew from Coventry in Feb, drinks that were bought airside were allowed on board. I believe this is fairly common and applies to other liquids (e.g. toothpaste) that you have bought after passing through security.

Birmingham had the same liquid rules in March. I bought drinks airside to take on board.
