Not sure how far this has got. I have a stay of execution.. not finishing work today but back on Wed. Maybe that'll be the day! Anyhoo.. that looks fine Dennis. I'm still jiggered as to why Ben and I have holes.

Have you sorted a flatten yet George?
EDIT: forget the last bit :)

An aside.

No wonder College of Air Training static aircraft.BGL was referring to a non-existing model. If one points it to the Chipmunk in Chipmunk No 1.bgl, this is what one sees:

In fact, the model is defined as feet whereas the placement assumes metres.

This is what it looks like in true scale:

That would be the bomber version George

Having given up last night, I'm like a dog with two tails now  Hamble is back and as flat as a geisha's chest ;)

... yes, and where they shouldn't be

That said, they've gone now thanks to a gentleman who knows 100% more about scenery than I do

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, guys but I see DaveB eventually got this problem fixed but I don't see how that was actually achieved mentioned here. How was it fixed in the end?

TIA.

Steve.

Hi Steve and welcome :)

As you've read, the problem I (and one or two others) faced was not common to all and may ultimately been down to individual settings.. eg, terrain vertex. My fix was done by a clever chap who looked at the flattens and found several holes. He then set about 'filling' the holes and this did the trick for me. The original was fine on his system may I add. :-O
I think it's probably true to say that GenX itself may have been partly to blame as it seems to install (or can install) slightly differently on each system depending on what is underneath. I started with GenX v1 then 'upgraded' to v2 with the update discs. I think DaveG has already commented that this update didn't actually bring v1 up to full v2 spec (even though we all presumed it did) so adding the v3 updates to a not so full v2 may have caused the terrain level differences or certainly, not helped.

I can't remember which Hamble files were actually changed but there were a few in order for it to display correctly. I'm happy to upload the modded version I have if you like Steve ;)

EDIT: Here's the modded version I'm using Steve. Remove your original (but keep it safe just in case) and try this one.. HambleMod

Hi Dave and thanks for the welcome and quick reply. I started with with version 2 and upgraded to v3. I'd already installed some of the airfields from here (Bracklsham & Bognor and Deanland) without issue so it's definately a Hamble-specific issue. If I could take you up on your offer of that modded upload that would be very good of you. Thanks very much. I really appreciate it.

I've just got back into FSX after having to give up on it a year ago because of the dreaded OOM error but my computer recently comitted suicide so I had to buy a new rig. This new one handles FSX very well so I'm getting stuck in again. I'm mainly into LSA and vintage flying and want to concentrate on getting the UK scenery as pimped out as possible on airfields and scenery. This site is one of my obvious choices for getting my UK aviation built.

Thanks again

Steve.

Hi Steve :)

No problem ;) I've added a link to my files in the post above. This works fine for me.. better in some cases than the original before it went pear shaped :cpu:

Thanks very much again, Dave. Unfortunately that's not worked for me either. I tried overwriting the existing files with these updated ones with no joy so I tried a clean install, adding the fixed files afterwards and still no joy. I'm guessing there's another variation in my setup that doesn't play nice with this airfield build. It's not the end of the world, though. It looks fine from the air so I'll just have to remember the landings could be a bit dodgy. The others seem to be working fine so far. I'll try adding the other airfields tonight and see how they go.
