PLEASE excuse my ignorance but why is Diesel soo much more expensive than Petrol?

It kinda bugs me when people say petrol prices are coming down but theres me (and all other Diesel drivers) who seem to be stuck with ~95p a litre.

Cheers,
Andy M.

Many would ask the same question mate. However, if you were a poor petrol user like me getting 25mpg around town.. you'd be even more cheesed off :wink:

Ahh right well at least I rarely below 50mpg right now!
If I get in 5th gear at about 50mph on a flat road I quite often see over 100mpg :dance:

Cheers,

I think LPG is the way forward.

That is until the Government stop the tax freeze on it.

My mate's Land Rover Discovery is fitted with a V8 but runs on dual fuel. It costs him about £20 in LPG to fill up. Bargain!

LPG= Liquid PETROLEUM Gas
:think:

Better if they could move away from it altogether.

Could be right Garry. I can see the price hike on the horizon for it. Thats not even considering what it costs to convert a vehicle to LPG.

However its still cheaper than anything else out there at the moment. Unless you consider buying several litres of cooking oil from ASDA. :k:

Trouble is, if they did and it became popular they would just shift the tax burden onto where ever the market moves.

They are not going to let you off the tax... :sad:

Well I am working at the Labour party conference next week so I may tell Mr Blair, face to face, to lower fuel taxes or else! :wink:
