Mate I wouldn't bother letting it go that high my max temp is set at 65 and i've got double the number of cores mate... I'd leave it until you can replace the heatsink and fan... unless you fancy a new processor too.

Depends on the design speed of the fan, mine for instance runs at 1800rpm but shifts quite a bit of air as it is a 92mm and has quite a few blades on it.

At full load Jonesy? I've never seen a CPU fan run that slowly when under any load!

At idle its down to about 900rpm

Just checked my mobo (Asus P5B) using PCprobeII, and my CPU (Q6600 with default coolder) fan speed is only 2000 :o Even after several times round the Mach Loop in FSX with the CPU maxed out it only hits 45 degrees
