Re: FSX Problem
Mate I wouldn't bother letting it go that high my max temp is set at 65 and i've got double the number of cores mate... I'd leave it until you can replace the heatsink and fan... unless you fancy a new processor too.

Re: FSX Problem
Depends on the design speed of the fan, mine for instance runs at 1800rpm but shifts quite a bit of air as it is a 92mm and has quite a few blades on it.XR219 wrote:65 is ok... but the fan at 2500 when the cpu is getting hotter is very wrong... the fans are temperature controlled so shoulk be up at at least 4000 rpm.

Re: FSX Problem
At full load Jonesy? I've never seen a CPU fan run that slowly when under any load!

Ben.

Re: FSX Problem
At idle its down to about 900rpm
Very quiet indeed.

Re: FSX Problem
They days of screaming 60mm fans cooling toasty Athlon Palomino's are long gone thankfully!

Re: FSX Problem
Just checked my mobo (Asus P5B) using PCprobeII, and my CPU (Q6600 with default coolder) fan speed is only 2000 :o Even after several times round the Mach Loop in FSX with the CPU maxed out it only hits 45 degrees
