........ Oh Yeah,
I got into FS when I bought FS2000 after seeing it at a friend's house (he also had some other great sims such as DID's F-22 ADF) and taught myself to fly the C182 at Meigs Field, mainly through trial and error. I used to do all of my flying around Chicago then and I remember my first successful landing (at Meigs), my first complete flight from Meigs to O'Hare and my first night landing on the same route.
I used to, in fact still do, have F22 ADF!

I spent so many hours on that sim, nearly caused the break up of me an the missus' lol!

It was the best combat sim I've ever had I think, fantastic!

Cheers,

Chris.

Chris,

I also find the default planes sensitive in trim but you can amend this.

Go to the main FS9 folder, expand it and find the "aircraft" folder. Expand this and find the folder for the plane you want.

Open this folder and then open the "aircraft.cfg" file with Notepad.

Find this section:

[flight_tuning]
cruise_lift_scalar =1.202
parasite_drag_scalar =2.200
induced_drag_scalar =2.200
elevator_effectiveness =1.000
aileron_effectiveness =1.000
rudder_effectiveness =1.000
pitch_stability =2.002
roll_stability =1.000
yaw_stability =1.000

elevator_trim_effectiveness =0.512

aileron_trim_effectiveness =1.000
rudder_trim_effectiveness =1.000

Amend the value for the line in red as follows: 1.0= default, 0.5= half as sensitive, 2.0= twice as sensitive.

Save the file then reload the plane in the sim and test fly it. You can do these amends in mid-flight as long as you save the file and reload the plane each time. Much easier than real flight testing ! :smile:

Degsy
