Dave,

In your pic of the Baron, it is sitting at 59.1ft. In my installation, it is at 72.3ft. Your flatten is 23.2ft lower than mine. Check that you have 9 cvx files:

cvxFW1.BGL
cvxFW2.BGL
cvxFW3.BGL
cvxHAMBLE WEST.BGL
cvxHAMBLE.BGL
cvxHAMBLE2.BGL
cvxLAST.BGL
cvxLASTA.BGL
cvxLASTB.BGL

In particular check for cvxHAMBLE.BGL which is the one which covers the grass.

Also, ensure that Hamble is at the top of the scenery library.

Check for elevation change files in Scenery\World\Scenery, it could be left from another installation.

The runway height ASL should be 68.898ft, the same as the flatten.

That looks fine Dave so there must be files in another active scenery area. The most obvious would be Scenery\World\Scenery, but they could be anywhere.

All I can suggest is that you deselect all scenery areas apart from Hamble and the defaults then add them back one-by-one.

There was no change to the mesh in the later versions of Gen-X.

OK George..

Here's Scenery\World\Scenery..

Not a great deal there as you can see *-) I think what the best plan of action would be is to download Hamble again and use those.. fresh files. I can't think of anything else :dunno:

Hi Dave,

The ones I'm using are downloaded fresh and I'm getting the funny too, so it must be something else. I'd try unticking all of your addon scenery mate and see if it makes any difference (leave the GenX stuff in though) ;)

Your world\scenery seems fine and I don't think a re-download and install would make any difference.

I see you have two directories "Hamble Airfield" and "Hamble Airfield for FSX". Are these both active?

If you search for City "Southampton" in "Go to Airport" are there only two entries?

If you search for Airport Name "Hamble" is there only one entry?

If you search for ICAO "EGHM" does it show Hamble?

I am rapidly running out of ideas :help:

Hello Mate..

I've deleted the original (dragged over) scenery and downloaded fresh but the end result is the same. When I'm on the runway.. elevation in the Beech is 72.3ft. If I turn left and drive off the runway.. the elevation drops to 59.2ft. Try driving off the runway and see what happens (by turning either left or right.. the end result makes no difference) *-) You can see what scenery I have active.. well you can't actually cause some of what you see in that last screenie ISN'T active and has since been deleted.

Don't worry about it. I'll just delete Hamble ;)

George.. you posted as I hit the SEND button. No.. Hamble Airfield for FSX was the original download folder. I dragged this into FSX then pulled Hamble Airfield out of it. Only Hamble Airfield was ever active. I'll try searching for more than one instance of Hamble or EGHM then it'll be a gonna (a famous codeword in a very famous film) ;)

EDIT: no.. only 3 airports shown under Southampton HM, HI and another Southampton in another part of the world. Searching EGHM only brings up Hamble. Searching Hamble only brings up Hamble. There is one other possibility.. Trees. I loaded the 'extra' trees into GenX on the first install and they'll still be there. When I get time, I'll hunt these trees out of GenX and see if that makes a difference. Trees are now the only common denominator between FSX installs.
