It was too good an opportunity - installing the "All-in-one" C-130 Xperience pack from Capt Sim will not only have more aircraft (and lotsa nice repaints such as the BAS one ) but it will be a much more painless install than the Just Flight offering - FSX upgrade disc, FS9 install disc, SP et al.

Can't complain, for £8.46

Still not having the B777, though (where's the 'throwing up' smiley? EDIT - I see someone already requested that one!)

Well I've gone and bought the 737 base pack - it's Ian's fault; there's been this steady drip drip drip of early 737 images for a while now and I must admit I quite like the early boing stuff - had character it did! Looking forward to crashing it in the near future (when I can tear myself away from BF3 ).

Can any-one advise as looking at the system requirements it states that you need Internet access (for installation/ re-installation) As I am not on internet would I be able to down load from another computer and install onto mine at home or for registration (if there is one for the model) do you need to be connected directly from your computer?

Would like to purchase one of these models

NIgel, just got a couple of models and installed them and to confirm what Ian said, yes you have to activate the products by entering the order number. However there are two ways of doing it - instant online activation, and 'off-line activation using another computer connected to the internet'. I'm not sure what that second one means, though.

Ian, many thanks for your help and advice - bought and downloaded Bens Fav aircraft the one and only 737-200 + 200ADV.

The pain and frustrations start Saturday (tomorrow) running from point A to point B (home to work to home) in order to register to install etc. on leave next week so can get a few hours of flying it !!

Well, well. We've got some new 737 captains! Welcome aboard, gentlemen.

I'm not much of a one for manuals but you don't really need one for this model as it's pretty basic. But I should just mention the Sperry SP77 autopilot which works differently to others.

Engage the AP by raising the two paddles: AIL and ELEV. Simply doing that will hold the aircraft in whatever pitch, trim, heading it's in at that moment so you can set it in climb and it will do all the work for you. There is a small toggle switch for HDG and another for ALT. Those will lock the heading to the heading bug or maintain a level altitude. There's no trim wheel - trim is set by using the yoke and it works like a dream. Just disengage the alt switch and push or pull the yoke gently to set your vertical speed and as long as the paddles are up/engaged the aircraft will hold that setting. When you achieve your target altitude, level off with the yoke and engage the ALT switch.

The flight director is independent of the AP and the selector switch is next to the one on the autopilot. If the VSI is not on, the on button needs to be clicked twice.

I think that's about it. Everything else is pretty basic and intuitive.
