Yes, its called Alaising, where you redirect the panel or sounds (or both) to that of another aircraft. This would apply to both the 2D and 3D panels. I'm not a big fan of VC's in most aircraft, as although they can look great, its unrealistic in most complex aircraft as you would normally have a crew of two and some of the functions are not easy to "reach" if that makes sense. Different if you have Track IR or something similar. In smaller aircraft its not such a problem, certainly in Rick's Hawk or Meteor or Dave's Hunter or Beaufighter, but in something like a Vanguard or VC10 I'm happy behind the 2D panel.... however if DM was ever to feel the urge to make a VC for the VC10, I wouldn't say no

Ben.

Why would anybody pay for just the external model and nothing more?

Re: Captainsim B-52
At the end of the day.. if you want a great looking B52 bad enough (and CaptainSim products are always pretty accurate externally) you'll buy the model as-is. Believe me.. you wouldn't be paying what the asking price is now for a FULL model from them
They did similar with the B757. At first.. a 'lite' version was released with rubbish flight dynamics and a basic panel but the difference was, the promise of a FULL version with all the bells and whistles was promised for a discounted price at some point in the future. CS are not the first to do this and they certainly won't be the last
If you want a great looking B52 and are prepared to add your own panel.. then you probably could do worse than buy the CS model. If you want a B52 with all the bits and pieces.. then don't bother. Fruitless complaining about it really
CS will already have made money off it due to the huge U.S. market so don't for one minute think it's a non-starter for them
Edit.. AD jumped in as I posted..
The answer is yes.. and then some.

Re: Captainsim B-52
Wait and see what happens then. They may end surprising some people with complete VC and panel.
Re: Captainsim B-52
It is Captain Sim... you could be waiting a while, so surprise wouldn't be a word that springs to mind lol

Ben.
