This is getting looney. I look for a Tagan 750 and can only find a 780. That little bugger has 4 x 12v rails and enough plugs for me to wire up my other 3pcs  Deary me 8) Anyone bought from AdvanceTech before ( http://www.advancetec.co.uk ) *-) Not sure if this is important but the Tagan guarantee is only 3years compared to 5+ for the Corsair range *-)

Edit..
Here's a variation on a theme for you. I went and had a look at the Antec site (TP750) and used their psu calculator. It reckons my useage is 369w (though to be honest.. I wasn't sure what all the holes/boxes were for)

Hello Mate :hello:

Modular one way or the other isn't that important with what I have fitted. Are you sure the OCZ gives you enough output leads?? I'm gonna go and buy the Corsair TX650 now before I change my mind. It will run everything I have and then some up to 50A and comes with a 5yr warranty. Who knows WTF I'll be doing in 5years

Have fun with your choice. I've looked enough and CBA to look anymore ;)

Hi Guy's..

By way of a finale.. well almost as I've not fitted it yet.. the Corsair PSU arrived today and to describe it as a quality bit of kit would be a slight understatement. Even if it doesn't work, I'm gonna keep it  New screws, kettle lead, even cable ties included as well as it being cosseted in it's own velour drawstring bag, comprehensive instruction manual and 5year warranty

It is indeed. Unfortunately, the pc didn't start after I'd fitted it this afternoon. It tries, then stops, then tries, then stops. Interest lost.. back to the XP3200 8)

Oh dear it seems that buying well respected models that everyone goes on about still means bad uns get through :'(
I am seriously looking, in fact ordering the 700W OCZ ModXStream Pro Modular Power Supply found it for just shy of £70 including next day delivery...
I gave up on the Oryxx after finding little about them where as Corsair and OCZ do have a good name...we hope!

I don't think there owt wrong with the PSU tony, sounds like an MB fault or the floppy drive cable is on the wrong way round? *-)

Yup.. I'd tend to agree that the new PSU is fine. I sincerely hope the mobo hasn't gone t*ts. How old is that Ben.. 12months.. not much more. The darned thing has hardly been used in that time too. Only started using it daily last week 8) Just checked.. May 08 :wall:

It's certainly not a floppy cable the wrong way round.. I don't have one fitted  None of the interface cables were removed.. only the pwr cables. All were checked and double checked that they were in place as were the pwr connections. Seems I was destined not to be a full time dual core user 8)

Dave, try disconnecting all of the cables inside... ie. drives etc including the ide / sata cables. Also if there are any cards in it (other than the graphics card) Basicly, start with just the motherboard and graphics, then add stuff in one at a time until it stops working. Sounds like there may be a short on the board or cable somewhere. I had a similar problem with my old system, turns out it was a memory module of all things. :cpu:
