Oh dear me. Do think carefully about what you're doing, John - there are limits, you know old chap! ;-)

Kind regards

Hi John, I did a rudimentary version of Thorney for FS,I have a traffic file too which uses Rick's Andover's; you should find it over at 'the pond'; also added 'Fleetlands' too both files are for use with jfvfr scenery.

IIRC there was some shipping scenery at the VFR Add-ons place, might still have it on my HD.

If you're using David Glaisters' World of Wight with the jfvfr scenery you'll need to move the scenery and landclass up/down the
priority listing to avoid conflicts, but I guess you know that already..

Hi Pete the VFR addons site seems to be down, so if you do have that shipping file I'd really appreciate it.

many thanks in anticipation

John

Edit: Well with a bit of lateral thinking I've found that traffic file Pete. I've not installed it yet, but if it doesn't work I'll be on the cadge! Thanks again John. I might have a cunning plan to add a few more bits! Hee Hee

John... is that shipping static? If not, and if you can point me in the right direction, I have plans for it. :dancer:

Depending on the timescale, Thorney hosted some interesting traffic.

During the 1960's, 242 OCU operated (simultaneously) Beverlies, Hastings and Argosies, together with 22 Sqn's Whirlwind flight. Later, Andovers and Hercules replaced the Bevs, etc., until the airfield closed in 1975. However, during the whole period, Thorney was a Master Diversion airfield, which meant that from time to time, almost any military/civil type could show up in bad weather.

Additionally, Dunsfold's test aircraft occasionally showed up to do approaches (indeed the Harrier T.4 demonstrator crashed there).

It was the most popular home posting in the RAF at one time, at least in part due to the sailing club!
