Thanks Peter.

I do hope that someone will soon produce an acft cfg which will give the computer acft flying and handling characteristics which more closely resemble the real aircraft.

As there is no VC I guess that part could be remedied. Any chance you could post a copy of that photograph Peter, it would be a good base for me to work from.
Andy,

Here it is in the pilots notes...In the ones I flew the DI was replaced by a G4F compass rather like the one in the French model but in the position the DI is in this picture:-

Also 27 and 34 were not fitted and there may have been a Clock where 27 is in the picture.

The white markings on the Gunsight should be "Wingspans"...20, 40, 80... and the two white letters with their own mark are RP (Rocket Projectiles). The wingspan of the target aircraft was set with the rotary switch and that set the size of the Ring of 6 Diamonds which you saw at infinity through the gunsight glass. The twistgrip on the throttle, when rotated would increase the size of this ring as you wristed it down and decreased it as you wristed it up...The idea was to keep the circle of diamonds just enclosing the wingtips of the target aircraft while keeping the central spot "Pipper" on the targets cockpit. This was "Manual Ranging" and it fed the correct current into the gunsight for the range and rate of turn as you tracked the target by flying your aircraft smoothly to hold it all just so. This correct amount of current allowed the pipper with its circle of diamonds to drift back behind the point line of the cannons, allowing them to point ahead of the target, applying the correct "Deflection". Thus the cannon shells were fired at a point well ahead of the aircraft, so that they and the target would arrive at that point together.......!*

Sorry...there I go rambling on again...Teaching fighter pilots to shoot was what I got my Queen's Commendation for...Plus some years of formation aerobatics

Peter, as far as I am concerned you can ramble on to your hearts content here, just don't know why you have not got down to writing a book on one or all the aircraft you have flown and of your experiences.

Would be a top seller in the aviation sections.

In view of Peter M's comments I have been trying to improve the handling characteristics of this aircraft and if anyone would like to try my new acft cfg file please drop me a pm.

I agree, but add sections specifically referring to FS and the flying charactersitics of models in the sim world and how they compare to their real-world counterparts?
That would be something that has never been done.

As FS begins to cross over from gaming product to sophisticated training platform, perhaps the time is right..?
