TBH.. the Hampden deserves to be given away  The Blenheim.. probably not bad at half price. Fortunately (or unfortunately as the case may be) I've had that since it came out :) My one gripe (the one I can remember) is that the textures look too worn. I know it's a wartime paint and that's accepted. They're ok I guess.. I'd just prefer something a little less distressed ;)

Thanks again. I didn't have much interest in the Hampden until I worked out the price, but I heard that the Blenheim had an exceptional sound set coupled with those Finnish textures. I'll give that one more thought next week. Probably just stick with the B-36 as an extra.

I've had the Blenheim for years - it's one of my fave Virtavia/Alphasim models. Works nicely in P3Dv2, too (thanks to DaveG).

I agree about the washed-out textures, mind.

I'd like to buy some of these, but I've run out of money and I'm away for a week at the start of June (at "RAF" Colerne, running GB4AFS if anyone's interested) so I need cash for that, too.

New prop textures fitted, and out test flying from Edwards AFB over Orbx FTX Global. Despite its faults, this Superfort is a definite keeper. :)

Picked up the B-29 myself too :) Worth a tenner

Didn't like the shade of green for the interior though, so I've changed mine. Probably not authentic, but looks better to me.

Dave, yes, your new textures definitely look better. However I did look closely into 'Its Hawg Wild's nose yesterday, and I think Virtavia might have it just about right. Another thing - have you noticed the throttle and mixture levers at the flight engineer's station are numbered back to front. If I'm right, the sequence, as you look at them, should be 4, 3, 2, 1 left to right, because you are facing the rear.

Yes, there consensus of opinion over at SimOuthouse was the colour was pretty much correct, I just didn't like it much!

Not checked out the engineers station in detail. Been hopping between this, the Aerosoft Lightning & Ricks Chippie today

Ah yes, the Aerosoft Lightning. I wonder how long I'm going to be able to resist getting that, even though I know it's going to be too much of a handful for me.

Anyway, some more shots of the sedate Superfort for those who might still be undecided about getting it:

The view from the pilot's seat. This is where P3Dv2.2's internal self-shadowing really comes into its own, especially as you turn the aircraft and the shadows move across the flight deck:

Image

Looking from the pilot's seat over to the co-pilot and behind him, the flight engineer's position. Down on the floor in the centre of the flight deck, you can see a small grey handle. If you click on this, the hatch opens and you can see down into the forward wheel well. A nice touch !

Standing in the centre of the flight deck, looking down to the flight engineer's seat:

The flight engineer's panel and side window:

The bombardier's seat. That big black contraption upper right is the gun sight, which can be swung into place by clicking on it. Another nice touch.

Image

Right down at the rear of the flight deck, looking at the navigator's desk. Off to the right, out of view, is the radio operator's position.

As you say Dave, for a tenner, this is quite some add-on. And Virtavia / Alphasim's best VC so far, though I can only go by what models I own.

Extensive VC's/cabins like this are wasted on me but I appreciate the work that goes into them. Agree also that the interior colour is right but Dave's is less intense on the old Mk1 eyeballs  For sure, its worth a tenner. The last version was good IMO so there was no reason to doubt this wouldn't step up a bit. I still think it's a little bit frisky as far as the handling goes but its easy not to tug an the stick as hard. Wonder if there's anything else I fancy while I still have a wife

If you want the toned-down VC, I'll upload the textures. ;)
