I don't know if the 'Jumbo' was there when you guys last went, but it certainly goes one better and bigger than it's neighbour!

It's only when you get the sampan driver to go round the back that you can see why maybe it's a bit of a fire risk. Check out the kitchens!

I was there in '91, I still have memories of going out the back to use the heads. I'm glad it was after the meal!

Ah.. easy answer. No need for fire escapes.. JUMP

I can't remember if the bigger brother was there or not in '74 I'm afraid. Too many Beano's since (and before) :o :worried:  What I DO remember is that it was late afternoon, early evening and the place was lit up like a Christmas tree. Certainly a more impressive sight than in the cold light of day

Getting back on topic (which is so unlike me, I know!) to the subject of the FlyTampa scenery. Just a reminder that I've already got a working Retro AI set-up for either FlyTampa or 9Dragons which gives you 1975-1985 aircraft flying in and out of Kai Tak but doesn't interfere with any other traffic you have in the rest of the World. Could save you a bit of time if you want to go that way.

Image

I've put it together on disk for a couple of members and Richard (fighterpilot) has installed it with no problems. It consists of two traffic bgls and an Afcad file along with around 70 aircraft/livery combinations of the period. 747 Classics, VC10s, Tridents, 707s, DC-8s, L1011s, DC-10s, 727s, 737-200s, DC-9s - they're all there buzzing in and out! The flightplans are set so that the highest-poly AI aircraft are the first to disappear if you move the traffic slider down to preserve frame rates. If anybody wants to try it you're very welcome to a copy, free of charge, just by PMing me your name and address.

Ian :)

I can certainly reccomend it, really adds some great atmosphere to the place. Now all i need to do is get my rwy13 approaches acceptable   . I would probably have posted some screenshots of it but my graphics are useless and I am using Kaitak 98 so its not really worth it.

I've fallen in that hole too Tony

The only thing i can complain about is there not being enough of the myriad of flags, neon shop signs & advertising banners that seem to grace every building downtown :dunno:

Heres a few shots

Never mind about that, Ben. If you don't get some power on quick, you'll be wiping out the few signs that there are! Check the VASI lights!

Great shots, mate! I think I'll get me one of them Tristars, it looks very, very nice. Must be a Cantu one ;-) Is there a decent panel for it anywhere?
