There is a substantial difference in frame rate between an FS9 model in FSX and a true FSX model Garry. I've had 5 of Rick's hawks in the same shot and still get 40+fps, whereas with the Freighter for example 3 in the same shot and I'm struggling to get 20fps.
If someone is selling a product that is ultimately an FS9 model which works in FSX, it should say something like "FSX compatible." There are many commercial software developers who are ripping the arse out of people who choose to use the newer sim... at least Dick Turpin had the decency to wear a mask.

I much prefer the avionics in the DA F100, although it is still pricey, especially when compared to the PF F100. A decent quality VC (if/when it materialises) will make the price more bearable. Even so, I'm still glad I have it, it is nice to have a flight computer once in a while..

I think I must be missing something here HELP
DA has made it clear that there's no VC, so if you really must have one this aircraft isn't for you, they're being up front, whats the con ??? I can't comment on any FSX issue(s). I don't fly aircraft looking at them from the outside so whether the external model is much different doesn't really bother me (I do use external for replay to watch the odd greaser though

), kudos to both sets of designers if they've done a good job with the visual model. The panel and the systems of the DA aircraft are far superior to the freeware Project Fokker - just look at the PFD and ND. The Freeware panel is not an accurate representation of the Fokker's avionics, that's what I want so I'm happy to pay my money.
There are 2 posters in this thread who've bought the product and we've both said we like it. So it seems simple. If you want a VC don't buy the DA Fokker. If you want a more realistic cockpit simulation of the F100 with great 2D panel graphics, more complex systems, smooth gauges and good frame rates, go for it.

Hi Jon
It is the FS.X issue really
FS.X model are very different and a lot are really ported FS.9 but wrongly claim to be FS.X
Without a VC it has no advantage that can be seen over the free one
The question is what does this high price buy you??

Hi Garry,
OK, I'm not an FSX user, so I have no idea about the pros and cons of FS9 aircraft converted to FSX, and I'll leave judgement on that to anyone who has bought the FSX version.
Sticking only to FS9 what do you get over the Freeware model? A Fokker 100 which looks like the real thing externally, and with accurately modelled systems and avionics which can be operated in line with the real aeroplane, as opposed to something which externally looks like a Fokker, but is nothing like as complete from a cockpit perspective. For a systems junkie there's no contest.

Thanks for that Jon. I would love to buy this A/C, but there is no way it can be an FSX model if it doesn't work in DX10, hence the Dick Turpin comment. I'm just sick to the back teeth of buying so called FSX models which aren't. Sorry for the rant.

Thanks Jon
I was thinking maybe there is a change in the areas you mentiom
No really appartent from screenshots but nice to know.
As to the price the bottom if you like something enough you will pay
If it a use now and then expensive but if you sit in it day in day out it's cheap entertainment

V2-LCS, im a masive Fokker jet fan and if you have been in flight sim as long as me and followed project fokker from its birth like i have you would be pretty disappointed like i am that the fact they went payware and that the payware was gonna be the best thing since sliced bread and have a vc. you can forgive me for being a bit down hearted when the payware version was released without a vc. Most flight sim addons come these days with a VC. some good some bad but at least they have a VC. which is what the fokker is missing. I love systems but and by the book flying but i would sooner have the fokker with a VC and limited function than a Fokker without. Thats why i love Davids and ricks AC they may not be as fuctinal in the vc as say the PMDG model 747 but it does the job and gives hours of fun.

For what it's worth I've had the DA Fokker for a week now and I consider it one of the best add-on aircraft I've ever purchased, despite the price tag.
Sure, it hasn't got a VC (for the time being) but it more than makes up for that with everything else it has to offer.
In my view it's on a par with the LDS 767 and PMDG 737/747.
It's a confusing beast to get your head around at first because the systems are in many respects completely different to Boeing's and there were times when it drove me to distraction.
However, it comes with a very detailed operating manual plus tutorial flights.
All in all it offers a very immersive and realistic flying experience as well as being a delight to hand fly in FSX.
On the downside it's not completely bug-free but a patch to fix a few minor issues is due out very soon.
I was a big fan of the freeware F70/100 but this is in a totally different league and I would venture to suggest that it's pretty close to "as real as it gets."
And no, I don't have any commercial relationship with DA.
