Thanks for the advice. The only thing that I now have to do is to untick the Extended Terrain Textures box - everything else is as I have done in the past. What with this new machine I get a steady 60+ FPS wherever, cept for the larger airports (which I normally stay well away from) where it drops to 40-48fps.petermcleland wrote:There are separate problems with flying over Photo Scenery and you should change the odd settings. I don't use any UK Photo but I do use Alaska Cinematic...Richard Goldstein recommends the following:-
1. Options > Settings > Display...UNTICK Extended Terrain Textures.
2. Let your Frame Rates go unrestricted.
3. He also recommends for lesser powered machines in real weather to select "Simple Clouds".
I leave my frame rates unrestricted all the time these days but whenever I go to the Alaska Cinematic area I do number 1. above.
Another good tip from Richard with regard to flying over this sort of scenery is to set up a Key attribution to "Refresh Scenery"...I use the key R. Then if you get a taste of blurries due to aircraft speed, just tap R...It refreshes very quickly if you have done 1. above and very slowly if you haven't
Thanks, dont know really want to say. I'm just that sort of person that does things without reading the instructions first and I'm surprised that I've this far with the sim as it is.petermcleland wrote:I'll put together an illustrated "Step by Step" for converting these textures. I'm starting it now and hope to have it uploaded before the end of the day :flying:
Thanks Peter....much appreciated as per usual. Will try it out this week and report back.petermcleland wrote:Here you are Martin and anyone else who needs it:-
