Hunting Clan Viking

Post by Garry Russell »

A couple more gap fillers

The top one is in Eagle airways basic and contains the recently discussed Civil Air Ensign on the fin. It was leased from Eagle and remained in the Eagle livery. I have no idea why it was so important to scrub out the name as well as the shield.

The wearing of the ensign was quite common at the time and continued on liveries until the Seventies

Other paints I have done that use this Ensign inclue The BUCIA Herald Cambrian second Viscount livery and the BoT/CAAFU early livery on the HS.748

Hi Garry
I've recently downloaded all your Viking repaints, stunning work.
I was particularly taken by your Hunting-Clan versions, for sentimental reason, and was wondering if theres any chance you would consider doing one of the Hunting-Clan DC-6's, G-APNO or G-APNP.
These were the last two DC-6's built and delivered new to Hunting-Clan.

keep up the great work

best regards
Steve

Hi Steve

Sorry mate but I no longer paint as such and am fully tied up with other work.

All my work now is project works apart from a few bits and pieces all ready on the list.

But thanks for your kind words of support

A bit of nostalgia for me there, Garry mate. Those little Vikings from Hunting-Clan, well one of them anyway, brought my mom down to Rhodesia from Ireland. Looking good and, as ever, great job. Without them I may not be here today! A bit like the question; What came first? The egg or the hen?

Sorry to bother you again Garry.

I was wondering if I could get your permission to use your Hunting-Clan textures and to modify them to fit the CalClassic DC-6.

I've never done any repaints before, but I'd like to have a go.

If you say no I'll understand.
Best regards

Steve

No point in sending them to you as such as it's painted in ARC photostudio and you won't be able to read the layers.

What I can do is sort out the logos etc and send them to you as a bitmap that you could cut up and use in your new docs.

I'm a bit tied up at the moment trying to texture map the Superfreighter but I'll take a look later.

Oh.....and you are by no means bothering me.....sharing and support is what we do here
