AISmooth Heads Up

Post by nigelb »

A new version 1.20 of AISmooth is available at Avsim. It is for FSX AND FS2004. Have not tried it yet - downloading as I type.

File is aismooth_v120.zip by Michael Sagner.

It says "FSUIPC 4.xx required (freeware license is sufficient)" but I hope that is just for FSX. I have a registered version of FSUIPC 3.6 so I will try with that and FS2004 and see if it works.

OK - I just finished a short test at EGKK and it works with FS2004 and FSUIPC 3.60 (may also work with earlier versions). I don't think much has changed other than adding FSX support which does require FSUIPC 4.10. However, from the readme:

"AISmooth V2 is being developed right now.

Features will be:

* Generic support for FS X (will not need FSUIPC)
* lateral separation of enroute traffic as well as landing traffic
* altitude separation in holding patterns"

Slated for release some time in December.
