DM 111-500 Dan Air repaint

Post by atco »

Hi all,

I must have missed this one somehow, but is there a repaint of the wonderful DM BAC111-500 in Dan Air's final livery out there?

I have searched high and low for this repaint, but have not been able to find it yet, and would really appreciate a point in the right direction.

Thanks

Garry

Hi Garry and welcome to the forum :wink:

David has a DanDare paint for the 500srs but not sure it's the one you're after. Check his site direct from here.. http://www.dmflightsim.co.uk/bac_1-11.htm

Flew on one of these classics from Gatwick to Faro, more years ago now than I care to remember !

Hiya Garry,

Ah.. see what you mean. I'm not sure if Simon Baskerville painted this livery for the 500's and having just checked his website and got a '404' error, I'm unlikely to find out! :roll:

I'll have a gander at one of my old PC's to see if I have one but in honesty.. it may well be long gone if there was one there in the first place :think:

[EDIT] Garry.. zip over to Flightsim.com and have a look at gbdas92.zip. This is one of Simon's repaints and looks like it might fit the bill :wink:

Kerzing!!...........

Garry,

That paint does work despite it being for an older model and having been painted by Simon what seems like hundreds of years ago. Quality isn't up to present standards but it's of a certain age and fits so if you want to fly a 500 in that livery.. download the file, drop the texture into your BAC 111 500HK folder and add the following to your aircraft.cfg...

[fltsim.4]
title=BAC 1-11 500 Dan-Air London
sim=111500HK
model=500HK
panel=
sound=
texture=DA
kb_checklists=..\DMFS Shared Files\BAC 1-11 Documentation\Checklist
kb_reference=..\DMFS Shared Files\BAC 1-11 Documentation\Manual
description=G-AXMG, firstly being delivered to Court Line on 11th Feb 1970 in their orange livery (Halcyon Sun). After the collapse of Court Line on 15th Aug 1974, she was ferried to Hurn for a short storage. Re-appearing on 12th Feb 1975 registered as 'G-BDAS' and sold to Dan-Air London. Later sold to ILFC and leased back to Dan-Air. Last flight for Dan-Air on 5th Nov 1992 from Amsterdam to Gatwick, flight No: DA484. Leased to British Air Ferries (BAF) on 12th Nov 1992 and re-registered G-OBWB on 8th Dec 1992. When BAF became British World Airlines (BWA) on 6th April 1993, the aircraft was then bought from ILFC in Nov 1994. Then in late 1995, G-OBWB reached a mile stone that no other BAC 1-11 500 had ever reached at that time, she was the first to reach 60,000 flying hours, making her the most flown 1-11 ever. She later flew her last revenue flight for BWA on 8th Feb 2000. Her next operator was to be Albarka Air as 5N-BBQ and English reg cancelled on 24th Feb 2000. Ferried on 10 Sep 2002 for attention by Medavia Malta.
ui_manufacturer=BAC
ui_type=1-11 500
ui_variation=Dan-Air DA
atc_heavy=0
atc_id=G-BDAS
atc_airline=DAN AIR
atc_flight_number=DA484

I have no addon paints for the 500HK so my next sequencial number was [fltsim.4]. If you have added other paints, change .4 to the next in sequence :wink:

It'll do until a newer paint comes along! :cpu:

I'm sure the reason that I never did it was that it was already done :think:

Toby..

You've not read the thread have you. That's the file I told Garry to go and get :roll: :lol:

I included the aircraft.cfg entry as I'm not sure of his prowess in this area and of course, Simon's paint comes with the old FS02 model so.. I made the changes and posted to make it a simple cut and shut :wink:

Tks for the archive link matey :smile:
