Pretty scenery and textures on the way into Stuttgart...

Post by petermcleland »

I've been using this particular flight to test and finalise the tuning of my AI Traffic version of David Maltby's Trident 3...I really enjoyed this scenery over about 30 test runs...so here is a sequence that I took from the moment of joining the flight in TrafficTools > Explorer to the parking of the aircraft at the gate (about 25 minutes). No captions are necessary and although every shot has a Trident, the main purpose of the sequence it to enjoy the scenery. The red text is present in all shots to show where it is with altitude, speed, heading and frame rate.

Thanks for looking

Hi Peter,

Is that part of the German Airports scenery?? I flew into Vienna yesterday using Austrian Airports and there are similarities. Will have to check out Stuttgart next time out

The Airport is a part of GA1 but other Aerosoft scenery is active in this sequence. Also in the area are small airfields from "VFR-Airfields 1, 2 and 3"...The textures are GE Pro (without the Dutch overlay).

DaveB,

I note now that area is in "Scenery Germany 1" which I do have installed...It is pretty extensive VFR scenery with all the Landclasses corrected so that Autogen puts the right things in the right places...However, there must be more to it than that as about three minutes after the start of that run I am unable to see any repeating textures all the way into Stuttgart (about 20 minutes flying at mostly 250 knots)

Love it, also have "Scenery Germany 2" installed, which is more up in the North where I flew for four years with the R.A.F. I must do more flying around this country and Little Bandit will be perfect for it. Aerosoft stuff really is very good...I ordered the boxed package, "Real Germany 1" and "Berlin", today as well. I also would like to make sure I have most of the German Airports to go with the others, before Aerosoft get too far into FSX.

I can see me using FS9 for many years to come and with rapid frame rates after a bit of upgrading to my existing machine

Hi Peter,

In that general area, I have Germany3 and Austrian Airports 1 and 2 and yes, they are very impressive. I've looked on the Aerosoft site a couple of times since with a view to getting my FS9 Europe better represented as I spend a lot of time flying there with the VA but.. the array of different 'Germany' sceneries is more than a little confusing for my pea-sized brain. The end result is that I've not bought anything  Here's an example of what I mean...

German Airports Selection 1
German Airports Selection 2
German Airports 1 NEW
German Airports 1 vol2
German Airports 1 vol3
German Airports 3 NEW
GAP3 vol1 NEW
GAP3 vol2 NEW
GAP3 vol3 NEW
German Airports 4 NEW
German Airports 4 vol1
German Airports 4 vol2
German Airports 4 vol3 NEW
Scenery Germany 1
Scenery Germany 2
Scenery Germany 3
Scenery Germany 4

I suppose I should spend a little time checking what the overlap is (if any) and work it out from there. One thing's for sure though.. to buy that little lot would cost a considerable amount of folding!! :dunno:

Now that's cheating!!

After I'd typed that list, I realised it's not German Airports 3 I have but Scenery Germany 3  I honestly think those nice folk over at Aerosoft should produce a 'CBFSVA German Airports selection'. It would certainly save time us trying to find what's in where!!
