I wondered if anyone had seen the Anglia TV News item last Friday featuring a DC3, and a Viscount, at Southend Airport in the 1960s. This concerned a flight known as the "Honeymoon Special" to Jersey. Jersey was a very popular honeymoon destination at that time. In fact the passengers were given champagne and a slice of wedding cake during the flight. Anglia News showed black and white film of two such flights, one in a DC3 which was clearly labelled with a large printed banner along the length of the fuselage obscuring the passenger windows - they must have taken that off before leaving the apron. The Anglia TV station covering Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex is asking all those who were passengers on such flights to send in their memories and photos of such flights.
The Viscount bore no such printed material but carried painted 'Channel Airways' titles above the fuselage.
Perhaps other DC3 operators in the UK at that time operated similar flights from local airports.
Just a passing curiosity.
