B707

Post by paul26may »

In 1964 and 1965 I had the good fortune to stay at Royal Oaks, Torrejon US Air Base, north of Madrid with my auntie and American uncle (who was in the US Air Force at the time). While there I was bought a model/toy Boeing 707 painted in either pale gold or chrome like finish. Does anyone know if this represented an authentic livery at the time or was it merely the manufacturer's choice? I cannot remember anything else, no emblems or stripes etc.[/i]

At the time American Airlines had there B707's in bare aluminum with orange striping but without knowing what stripes or emblems its hard. You might try looking at the previews for the 707 downloads at the historic jet group http://www.simviation.com/hjg/downloads.htm and see if there is one you recognise.
