A little gem

Post by calypso »

Aplologies for this, but I felt I had to share.

As you know I'm a big fan of Russian aircraft and admire the very fresh way Russian aircraft developers approach their work.

Every week or so I look through the Russian FS sites to see if there's anything worth trying.

This one looked very unassuming, but I was bored so I thought I'd give it a try.

Glad I did! I am not an eye-candy man and I find that the three essential qualities I look for are the cockpit, sounds and flight dynamics.

So this one has no VC and the model was created for AI.

The aircraft is the Yak-42 (small civil tri-jet).

All documentation is in Russian, and it took me a couple of days to work out the panel and autopilot.

The small readme file has a link to some excellent sounds (highly recommended).

Believe me, it was well worth the effort. Immersion is gauranteed!

Thank you John!

I've always loved the Yak-42, had a brilliant chance to see a few of them last year when in Bulgaria.

I shall certainly be giving this a try!

Pleasure Alex.

By the way, if you're stuck, I put some basic guidelines up on another forum.

Scroll down.

I am with you on the Russian stuff. I guess you could categorize us in the 'special interests' sector!
