Macs,

You're right that the turn onto finals is pretty straight forward. The tricky bit with this one (or at least where I mess up) is timing the turn over Aurora to get on the 170 radial. Slightly too early or late and you're parallel to the 170° radial and by the time the HSI or VOR indicators come back there's very little time to adjust you're course.

If you approach from the north instead of east very little adjustment is needed and it's a lot easier. But where's the fun in that. :smile:

The same is true if you do a missed approach, after which you return to AUR on the 350 radial and no course adjustment is necessary over the airport. Been there, done that.

As you rightly said earlier the exercise is less about getting down but doing it well. I for one need more practice.
