Oil rigs for scenery only

Post by hobby »

Can any member recommend FS2004 scenery of the North Sea oil rigs.

Since helicopters self-destruct when I try to fly them in FS9 the oil rigs would be used only for scenic puposes. Does anyone remember when 'Air Atlantique' used to fly Dakotas on North Sea patrols over and around our rigs and that wonderful bit of TV film some years ago showing these aircraft boom rigged for spraying detergent(?) over an oil spill off the Orkneys or Shetland?

I think that the North Sea economic patrols are now flown by FRF B200s or Falcons when not on ILS checking or target/light freight duties. The Hercs are no doubt too busy elsewhere these days.

In that TV report you could see the Dakotas on the island strip being reloaded, taking off, and delivering their detergent from the air onto the oil slick before completing the cct by landing to be reloaded all in the one frame.
