I'm under instructions to get the daughter a tft for her birthday (rapidly approaching) and was going to get one of those 19" jobbies advertised at £149 from PCW  However, a rethink and an addition to the birthday wishlist means I'm not gonna fork out £150 anymore!! I popped on to Microdirect to order another AG TFT (which currently has a total of 3 dead pixels!! ) but they're out of stock. In fact, they seem to have sold out of most things in the 17" range. I've looked on Overclockers and I really can't tell the difference between any of em.
Could you have a gander on both sites for me and see if there is anything that takes your fancy. Pricing to be the same as the AG (£115-120max) and if possible.. it is to be 13-(soon to be 14)-year-old proof
Many tks for that. I'd had a look at the Asus monitor but know JS about them other than mobo's and cdrom drives!! There's enough choice there for me to select one I quite fancy the 19" Xerox as she is one of these kids that has 10 MSN conversations open at the same time but that said, she'll notice a visible difference in size between her current 17" crt and a TFT of the same size anyway.
TaVM matey. I'll order one of these and let you know how I get on
Many tks for that. It's not too late yet but that monitor is now just a tad more than I wanted to pay. A hair straightener (girls hey.. who'd have em!) has lept(leapt)?? onto the scene and these things are around the £50 mark.. hence my reluctance to spend more than I have to :huf: It's a nice looking monitor though. Do you have one yourself??

A hair straightener? Just buy her a travel iron Dave!
Yes Dave. I have a slightly different model (930BF) which has a nice response rate of 4ms (great for gaming). Good price, crisp display but my only real niggle would be the onscreen controls, they're a little bit flimsy. Neverless, I'd certainly buy another.
Stay clear of Savastore/Watford Electronics. I've had several problems with them in the past.
Hmm not sure if "Stay clear" is how I'd put it, but then again although the same advice had been offered to myself, all goods arrived on-time if not earlier than expected without a hitch. I guess it varies between orders... I hear their real weakness lies in Customer Service.
