Hi Garry,
It's probably me mate. I can almost count on the fingers of one hand how many time's I've taken off from that direction. The lower (westerly) turn to the runway from the hold and the LH turn after the lights looked very much like GCI but the scene to the east (behind) the Viscount just doesn't look like my GS UK2000 plus UKVFRPhoto/UKVFRPhoto Terrain
Glad to know the Islanders got the basics anyway

You're not high enough to realy see the layout of the land.
The set up you mention is basically what that is.

Hi Garry,
Yeh.. I suppose it does. I'm usually on the inside 'hanging on' as it were so the angle (and time) of your first shot looked slightly alien.. particularly how the land looks to the eastern side of the island.
Looking at the last shot, you can clearly see the 'flattened' area defined as a plateau which becomes more noticeable on that first shot giving the impression you're taking off from Gib or HK if you see what I mean

Hi Dave
Thats the off shore Island giving the impression of being a plateau attached.
