Yes Dave a bit odd isn't it

I can never understand how someone can make a model and add bits that just aren't there :dunno:

Like Toby said - not interested in the resin one, but the Airfix one I reckon should fetch at least 25 or 30 quid. Maybe more if a couple of bidders get 'ebay fever' between each other. Not for me though, I can't really see the point of never intending to build it.

I'm actually after an Airfix Hampden at the moment and was most dischuffed when one went at 30 notes this week - that is just nuts!

Airfix just did a limited release (2000 copies each) of the Trident, Caravelle, BAC 1-11, Boeing 707, Boeing Clipper and the Bristol Freighter. Last thing they did before going belly up sadly.
I have become, comfortably numb.

Yep - made sure I got myself copies of the Trident and BAC1-11 last week. Not bad at 6.99 each. Plus there are speedjack BEA decals available at the moment.

I can't see Airfix disappearing for good though - I think Hornby are looking at them at the moment. I can't think of a more suitable company to take care of them, but I suppose it all hinges upon whether or not they can get hold of the moulds which went with Heller in France when they went bust. We took it for granted, but with Airfix there are a lot of subjects that although very old products, they are 'the only game in town' - like the Hampden for example. With work, you can still make excellent models from these old kits ...

 :brick: :sicky:

GHHHAAAAH!!!

I just paid 16 quid for one off ebid!

 It's a type 3 box though, original issue, so maybe when it arrives I'll temp some ebayers with it, make a few quid and buy the reissue for 9.99 which has thinner transparencies ...

Sorry. I'm sounding like a woolley-pulley wearing berk. Kits meant to be admired when they are built, not while they are still in the box ...

And I forgot to say thanks for the heads up on Kingkit ... off there now!
