To suppliment their own Vanguard, Silver City leased this aircraft from BEA in the latter half of 1973.
Due to a change in policy, Silver City Airways was closed down and this machine was never delivered.
'EI returned to BEA service for a few weeks before being sold to Merpati Nusanta Airlines.
Sent in to Classic British files, FLight siom .com and Simviation.

Thank you Garry, I've dedicated myself to flying the Vanguard at the moment so this will make a nice addition to the collection.

Cheers Alex
I have been on a backup PC for a week now and I get the proper one back tomorrow. All my current work is on that machine.
This paint has ben sent in now as it was with someone for checking.
So when I get back onto it there will be some more Vanguards to come.
I still would like to know which one had the BA titles.....my suspision is it was this one as it found itself in early 1974 with the need for titles to added to return to service. Even though it was sold a few week before BA came about BA titles were being added already ahead of the change.
But I can't confirm it
If anyone sees a pic of the Vanguard but can't read the reg, it can be easily seen if it is PEI as that was the first Vanguard in Flying Jack and the cheatline at the front was straight and cut into by the nose cone as on my paint.

Nice work as usual Garry. Lovely texture and accompanied by some interesting trivia on the Aircraft.
Many thanks

:tuttut:
Points for trying
But that's not PEI was never a Merchantman and that has the curved cheatline missing the nose cone..Examining the pic ity appears to be PEM
Thanks anyway
Eddie ........there always seems to be a little bit unique to each of BEA's Vanguards.

The Vanguard on the right is PEI showing the stright cheatline with the cone cutting into the green. The one behine is 'EB in the hybrid
The others had a curve to shape the green arround the cone neater
Here is the only pic I have of the BA titled Vanguard
For those who think it looks remarkably like a Trident..try the one behind
So if there is a pic of of BA Vanguiard, not Merchantman that does show the nose it can be easily seen weather or not it's EI
And I can do the paint
