Hi Dan.. well done that man
If you really, honestly think its as difficult as folk are convinced it is, then please let me know
You will see from now on that you are a VA pilot and no flight roster has landed in your email box. There is NO pressure to fly. The most difficult decission you have to make is what aircraft you want to be type-rated on followed by 'which route will I fly'!!
Good luck to you and tks for taking the plunge

Welcome guys
The golden rule is.. any questions, don't be afraid to ask. I did my fair share when I joined as we all did so scream if you need help. You needn't ask anyone specific.. we all chip in here so whoever reads it first will make the reply
Tks for keeping the faith and giving it a try. Toby.. we'll see if we can't get you a 146 to play with though I expect you'll go for Tridents

Hi Dave,
I have actually asked John to put me on 1-11s. I plan to use G-AXOX, G-AXBB and G-AXMU if thats alright with everyone else, mainly from LGW to snowy places though I have a cunning plan to do a short hop from STN to Schipol first to get the hang of things then fly it from Schipol to LGW.
A 146 would be nice, but theres no rush, I am hoping to get a flight in either tonight or early tomorrow morning as the PC is being packed up for my move on Thurs and then I dont know when I will next have a working phoneline/BB... so you might not see me for a bit.
Toby

That's fine Toby. If the aircraft is available and it's at a base airport.. it's yours for the taking
As DM has since put in his most excellent visual tutorial.. if an aircraft is on or below the 97% mark, you may want to take something with a higher number. You can actually take one up to and including 96% but below that point we start getting into more expensive maint periods. 97 should be ok but the closer it gets to 96.. think about a replacement.
Your 1-11 (any aircraft for that matter) does NOT have to be at it's base to be put into maint. The main advantage of taking it back to a base is that if you intend jetting off for a more extended period, you can drop it off there and pick up another one!
The ACTUAL level where things go to poop is 95% and below so as a rule of thumb.. we ask that you don't drive off in anything at or below 96%
