it is very true what you say rick, but there are settings you can make in the firewall to allow say 5 seconds access (which is all you need here) followed by the antivirus clearing up what it left. i read a tutorial about it once.

i didn't use it here anyway, i just disabled my firewall for a few seconds then mopped up with ad-aware - as far as i can tell nothing was left behind.

it might have something to do with firefox too not keeping any cookies but i don't know.

Hi Hinch

thanks for not flaming me

I cannot afford to have a hacked PC as it contains the source files for all may last 6 years work.

I already have to battle against Hardware life as no company seems to make anything any more reliable.
all they worry about is speed & space.
Most of the CDs i backed up onto 6 years ago no longer read or now contain errors so the only way i can keep stuff is to use a raid system
of sorts amongst my old HDDs.

So i too am always saying no to sited that give an error after i said i did not want their un needed cookie.

Just paranoia i guess but if i lost it all i would give up in an instant. :worried:

My Website has been hacked so many times that i have almost given up trying to keep it upto date.

Regards
Rick

Strange, I downloaded the file without any warning and yet I sit behind two firewalls.

So wonder why? Could it be "Noscript" running on Firefox that only allows javascript to run if I say so?

EDIT: sorry for yet another O/T inthis thread

Hi Hinch

I might take you up on that offer as trying to keep my website alive has been causing me major hassles in the last 2 years.

Mainly down to the fact i have no idea how to move it off my £15 a month original BT dialup space that it is held on.

I hate websites that move every 6 months or so as i like people to be able to find it more than once.

I have been so broke that i could not really afford it :-({|=
but somehow it survived :dunno:

Regards
Rick
