Not another Canberra PR9 repaint?

Post by kit »

Yes, I'm afraid so, but this one's a bit different.

I've done all three of No. 39 (1 PRU) Sqdn.'s PR9s, XH131, '134 and '135, done in their final schemes when delivered to their civilian owners at Kemble on July 31st this year. When I saw Andy Nott's version of XH!34 I realised that his 'Flying Bomb' fin textures knocked spots off mine and after an email or two we've collaborated on that aircraft, mixing Andy's fin with my fuselage and wings.

These are for the Bill Holker PR9, filename bhpr9.zip available from all good freeware sites near you. In addition to the three aircraft modelled as they were at Kemble I've also done one of XH131 in her worn and chipped finish as she was on her return from Afghanistan on the Canberra's last operational mssion.

I'd like to say the package is available for download right now but I can't get in touch with Bill Holker to gve it his blessing at the moment as it seems he's moving country right now, let alone moving house!

I hope I'll be able to post some screenies of the repaints below here, but as I've never done it before who knows if it'll work..........

XH131 in the grey scheme.

XH134 with her 'Flying Bomb' fin.

XH135 in a more conventional Hemp/Grey scheme.

These are all shot on the excellent Kemble scenery by the Advanced UK Scenery Group by the way, and the aircraft are placed in their correct places on the disused 31 runway.

Thanks Buff, just wish people could download them

It was a labour of love actually, my Dad flew PR from the late 30s till the end of WWII so aircraft with cameras aboard are 'normal fare' for me.

At last Bill Holker got in touch!

It seems he was moving house, to New Zealand! No wonder he took a while to get back to me, but he's OK'd me publishing the Last Three PR9s files and I've just uploaded them to flightsim.com. They'll probably appear there tomorrow some time.

I'll try and upload them to the CB Files site too, but as I've not done that before I'll probably send them to some virtual black hole....

Kit
