Who DID that??
Yo Dudes..
Who's left me in Jersey without my Dove (ARDE) which I now find is residing in EGHH!!! After a week of Jersey ops, I went to fly the heck outa there and see my girl has been kidnapped :huf:
I'm gonna start putting wheel clamps on her as this is the second time it's happened.. bad enough if there is another one for me to use but that aint the case at Jersey where there are NO Doves.
[edit] Due to the wonders of modern science and the magic done by DM on the fleet thread.. I see the offender was John Redmond. You owe me the cost of a ticket Mr R!!

Thanks Garry
And tks Rick but I'm off to Hurn to recapture the old girl. There is only one other pilot who's flown DE (DM when he borrowed it from Brum where I'd put it in for maint!!) since ops were started.. the rest being done by me so I've grown a little attached if you see what I mean. Not sure if there are any available at Hurn but if not, perhaps someone would care to ferry one there for Mr R to continue
[edit] No ferry needed as there are 3 Doves at Hurn.. 2 at 100%

Oh dear I've created a monster with that Fleet page.
Actually, snitching on the last pilot was Fraser's idea!
What's the law with Doves?
I thought you could jump on a Dove anywhere because they don't have bases.
I'm sure there are some rules written somewhere, but a quick look around the forums didn't turn them up.
Perhaps we should have a clear sticky up top that gives the correct procedure for booking flights. All the do's & don'ts.

Hi there,
Nope, the Doves don't have any designated bases as they are freely available to move anywhere on the network without having to be 'returned'. As such, they are available for all to use if needed. However, in this case, I think John has forgotten that he flew into EGJJ in 748 'AM. As EGJJ is not a designated base for the 748, 'AM has effectively been 'abandoned'. I'm sure it's an oversight on John's part and he'll pick her up soon

Hi Guys,
I've amended the thread 'Designated bases for fleet aircraft' to include the Dove to make things clear. General 'booking rules' are as stated at start of that thread, here :-

I dunno if I'm too sure about this John. The last person to fly DE was me and where was I on the 26th.. Jersey having done an overnight in Alderney. It IS possible that I was still in Alderney when DE was taken mind you. I'm splitting hairs and don't mean to and am certain that JohnR didn't think.. Right, DaveB is in Alderney (if that is where I was at the time) so I'm gonna nab the Dove :nahnah:
For my part, I'd be wary of taking anything 'singular' unless it was at a dedicated base as there is always the chance that you're going to drop someone in the sh1t. Had I realised that John had left a 748 there, I could have ferried that over to Hurn and picked up DE to continue on my merry way but I saw the 748 there and presumed the pilot was still on the island so the thought never entered my rather rattled head.
Whatever.. something is gonna end up where it wasn't as a consequence and it may turn out to be one of the free Doves at Hurn!!
Sometimes.. you just wanna 'Wash & Go' which aint much fun if someones borrowed the soap!

John, could we have those rules posted in a sticky 'CBFS Rules' or whatever?
Just thinking about any new pilots that may not find them. Or pilots that don't fly that often & may forget where they are.
Also the recruiting thread doesn't seem very prominent either.
Or perhaps it's just me, I can never find anything. :k:
While I'm at it, the 'NOTAMS' section isn't used much, what would you say to getting rid of it? Crew Room seems to be doing the job.
Or how about turning 'NOTAMS' into a 'Recruiting & Rules' so it's clear where to go for both.
I'll go away now.

Hi DM
I was thinking about the NOTAM section the other day and considered asking BaveB whether it should be binned. As you say, the "Crew Room" seems to be doing a good job as does "Aircraft and Routes". I like the idea of renaming the "Notam" section to " Recruiting and Rules". Perhaps when DaveB sees this he can rename it and put it to the top of our three subforums, "Flynet Info" next, "Aircraft and Routes" after that and "Crew Room" at the bottom. Once they're sorted I'll shift some of the posts around.
