Disused Airfields - Military

Post by Reheat »

Hi guys!

Not sure if this has been posted on here before so sorry if it has - couldn't find anything using the search.

Lovely report of a recent trip to RAF West Raynham HERE

There are also lots of similar reports on that forum. Some great British aviation sites.

However please note that some of the "reports" on there weren't taken on official, or sanctioned visits. However without some of these people doing what they do ("Urban Exploration" as it is called) we would never get to see these great british acheivements as they are now.

Please don't look at the link if you are just going to post about "Pikey/Chav Tresspassers" and look at it for what they are trying to promote - an understanding of our history. I don't want this thread to discuss the moral issues, just the historical ones!

There is a great report from Spain with some Vickers-Armstrong guns near the top of the page.

All the best.

28dayslater are well known for this kind of thing and dont do it in damaging way. They were the ones that did the late night photo shoot inside the now disused Rover works at Longbridge last year.

Chav trespassers wouldnt be there to photograph, only to grafitti, vandalise and drop litter   So there we are, nuff said about chavs.

There's some good stuff on that site, i'm sure being chased around by security only adds to the fun, not that i'm condoning it, honest...

There's some good posts about my local ex-base, I guess i'll have to head out with a camera one day.

I've got some good memories of going with my local scout group when I was a kid to airshows here, the red arrows flew over my house one day too and I can remember getting so excited.
