Is that before the sat on pier "c" was built. Used to go there thought the 70's and I think I've got the book mentioned.(got my bike nicked from there aswell  ) Still got a photo off a Laker DC10 and A300 parked on the remote stand where the Fairy hangar was, the day the airline went bust!!! If you need any help PM me, I made a version of EGCC for fs2000.

Lol, I carnt remember. When I was there in the Late 60's, there was only 2 piers that I can remember, As you looked out from the main building there was the B-Line pier, where I think was also shared by Cambrian stuff and of course, the "International" pier to the right. I just spent so little time on the B-Line pier, as all the "interesting" stuff was always hanging off the international pier. I just carnt remember what the area to the left of the b-line (Thats what I used to call it) pier looked likeedmond64 wrote:Is that before the sat on pier "c" was built. Hehe, thanks Toby, just received them, am having a look now!
Cheers Chris
Thanks, a couple of those photos tell me how it was, looks like hangers etc. I notice that one of those pics with BY73 in the foreground must have been after 1972/3 as BY had newer colours and it must have been "divvy" day 3 Pan Am 707's in at one time!
Didnt recall any Pan Am stuff when I was there.
Thanks again, these are great pictures and should help me out a lot now!
Cheers Chris

For a number of years, mid 70's I think, you had the novelty at Speke of seeing the aircraft at the old terminal. They then disappeared around the trees at Speke Hall to take off on the new runway! When landing from the east aircraft would just appear as if from nowhere!
Does anyone remember the burnt out wreck at Speke? On the other side of the old main runway.
