Suppose that one will have to be called "Chas"?

be thankfull it's only one pixel, my lap top was just out of warrenty and the whole screen went black. to replace was in the region of $1500.00 canadian dollars for the screen. the lap top cost me $2200.00.
all i could do was to replace with a brand new machine and get a second hand monitor for the lap top. not a happy bunny.

I just noticed that when I originally got my TFT monitor about 13 months ago, it had a dead pixel (stuck on blue). I just looked for it, and it appears to have cleared up - I can't find it at all any more.

Just shows they apparently can fix themselves without any intervention.

That must have been a lazy pixel, and can be cured sometimes if you use the screen a lot for like games ect where the pixels change very rapidly.

David, Must have been the backlight or a faulty conection.

At the end of the day I dont think I would buy another CRT. The one I used to use as my primary was a decent, very sharp, crisp and clear monitor when I bought it... but its got nothing on the TFT. Even the colours are better. I paid around £180 for it to, and for that you get 19inches, 8ms response time, 300 cd/m² brigteness and 800:1 contrast ratio. If you really close, you can make out the faintest hint of ghosting but you really need to look for it to see it.
The only way that my CRT is better is that has a dot pitch of .24mm wheras the tft is .29mm.
