That's right, Leif, it's called Nairobi Game Park (imaginative title!) and borders the airport road. We often used to see giraffe next to the perimeter fence. I also used to stay at the Panafric in the 70s remember the Simba bar and Tusker beer? And the room keys with huge wooden carvings of lions attached to them so you couldn't lose them?

If we're showing wildlife shots, I don't want to be left out! For several years the second Mrs Speedbird and I spent all our spare time in South African game parks. The Kruger Park and surrounding area is the only place in the World I really miss.

Here's one of my favourite big cat photos:

This is even further away from CBF sim (being not even a cat!) but it's an amusing photo.

We were probably there at the same time - although Im sure The Airways
didnt associate with rifraf like IAS - we started at the Hilton but were
invited to leave in 1974 after an incident with an IAS Britannia crew
and a Callie VC10 crew that were invloved in a streaking incident.
IAS's offices were up at the Standard Bank building. personally I never liked Tusker preferred the Bottled stuff we used to get in N'Dola...
want to say White Castle --- but Ive been known to be wrong.

Cheers

No Steve

Ill take the blame for this one - I was remembering bits of parallel history and geography with Peter - I couldnt think of the name of the
little (by african standards) game reserve right off HKNA - not sure if
it even exsisits today.

Cheers

White sounds right, Leif. White Cap? Castle is South African. So many Countries, so many beers, all so long ago

In case Steve thinks this is off track, I can confirm that in a recent survey of big cats in the UK, 7 out of 10 preferred Kenyan beer to South African. True!

Your sighting may have been a lynx, there's evidence of a few about (i.e. shot or roadkill!!). See here: http://www.britishbigcats.org/evidence.php
