CFS3 :curse:

Post by Vulcan_to_the_Sky! »

Hi All,

Firstly, Moderators, if this is In the wrong section then I apologise, and would you move it to the correct section please.

Has anyone else tried this game, Im finding incredably frustrating to even complete a mission. Im a CFS veteran, and dont remember dying on each attempt at a mission.

It seems that no matter how hard I try, the enemy flak has pretty much taken out my plane in one shot, and even when I do make it back to base for some reason, even if im using very little brake, my plane decides to explode and roll over onto its nose.

Perhaps it might be my duff flying, but Im sure I can't be the only one out there who, despite how good it looks, can be fully satisfied out there.

/rant over.

Don't uninstall it yet! Get Over Flanders Fields (OFF), a great freeware WW1 conversion to CFS3!

Hi Guys.

Giving this game more patience than I normally do with computer games, I actually managed to complete a mission today

But I suspect that it will be the last one, no doubt I'll die on the next one as a lucky bit of 88mm flax will shred my P-47 to bits (I've already given up on the British side as the Typhoon files like a bag of :curse:

On a slight plus point (might get virtual things thrown at me for this), on some of the aircraft, the flight model on takeoff and climbout seems pretty good.

I'll certainly have a good look at that ww1 conversion, I've been waiting for a up to date WW1 fighter game, guess this will have to do for now.

I've just downloaded that conversion, installing it now as quite frankly Im sick of the default sim, the guns are no where near as accurate as they should be, you can be flying behind an enemy and shot him in EVERY spot and no damage, he puts seemingly one bullet in and bang, damage everywhere.

If you are after a good combat sim, then try il2 stormovik, best ww2 sim as far as i am concerned,i was bitterly disapointed with cfs3.
If you wish to try something a bit different, try b17 the mighty8th,its old now,but is still difficult, you have to train all crew members in your bomber,in order to get them proficent, also has some classic crew comments, that give humour to the sim.
try nursing a sick aircraft home in either of these sims, tests your skills in airmanship to the full.
the best new jet combat sim is lock on,but be warned,it takes a very high spec computer to get the best from it,if not then you might rename it lock up.

Hi Alan,

I was dissapointed with the WW1 addon, couldn't get it to work as well as I had hoped. I have tried IL-2 before, but that was in the days that I had a AMD K-6 500mhz and it didin't run too well, may give it another go now that my computer is a bit better.

I did try lock-on, but I got bored very quickly of it.

I'll certainly have another look at IL-2 though,

Cheers,

James.
