Canberra Farewell

Post by AlexP »

I’ve just seen, out of the window here at Cranwell, one of the last Canberra PR.9’s doing a final round robin (one of three occurring simultaneously). As part of the Canberra farewell celebrations three PR.9’s visited all of the currently active RAF airfields in the UK and a number of other sites where the Canberra has had a strong association over the past 57 years.

It looked fantastic with the blazing midday sun glinting off its wings  and it seems a real shame it will not be gracing our skys any longer.

Was anyone else lucky enough to see one of the three PR.9s today and maybe even take some photos?

Well, I suppose there is one consolation to the Canberras' demise and that is...........Air Atlantiques' Canberra......Just hope they can keep it flying.
