You know what they say, ex smokers are the biggest objectors to it.
I was a 40 a day man, untill I started having serious health problems, went to hospital, and after extensive tests, was basically told to pick my box, and be quick about it, unless I changed my habits.
Eight years later, I'm still here and have no intentions of going for a while yet.
I enjoyed going down the pub as much as anyone. Three nights a week, and Saturday afternoons. Haven't been for eight years as I got sick of people blowing smoke around, and I won't go until it is stopped. There seem to be more people not going to pubs these day's than there are going, so there is a potential market there.
Half the pubs in my area have now closed for lots of reasons. Some are being turned into mosques.
They can't compete with supermarket prices for drinks. There is a lot more available entertainment at home with the TV packages available, broadband internet, movies, sport, and not forgetting CBFS.
Most of the ones that are still open have the same three saddo's sat at the bar puffing away every night. Same old stories, same old jokes.
I can only speak for the pubs in my area, but they need to clean up their act, and then people will go back into them, and I would join them. Providing it is still £1-17 a pint.
